  FATE
I had a surge of excitement running through my spine. My muse whom had been MIA from my thoughts suddenly appeared before me and influenced me to write about the whole complexitiy surrounding FATE. Frankly speaking, what exactly is fate? How does it affects us so much?

Standing true to my religion, I believed implicitly that every individual had his/her fate written by the Mighty God before being born into this mystical world. Each person has his/her role assigned beforehand. And thus, some people would grow up to become leaders whereas others become the workers. Hmm... Maybe that was how Karl Marx came up with the theory of Marxism. He simply believed in fate.

I watched a re-run of an "Amy Mastura" Movie in the late afternoon just now. Although I had watched that movie for many times and practically memorized the whole plot, that movie still struck a chord in me. The movie was about this typical factory girl who always dreamt of becoming a real princess. Fairy Godmother came knocking on her door one day which certainly changed her life. Miss Ordinary Next-Door girl bloomed into Cinderella when a real prince fell in love with her. However, the movie had no fairytale ending. She decided to dutifully ditch the prince because of the great contrast in their status in society.

Fairytales just do not happen in real life. If you are fated to be a commoner, you would be one until your last breath. We could not choose who our parents are. Fate decides it for us. If you are lucky, you would be born with a silverspoon in your mouth. If luck does not stand by your side, you would be born during a crisis. Yes, it is true that we can change our course of life as we go through the journey. Nevertheless, there are boundaries which are firmly set. Boundaries which we cannot cross easily. Boundaries which are destined and restricted us from overcoming them. And that is where fate comes in. Fate decides what you should do during your course on earth. The best we can do is to accept our fate or go around it.

I do have dreams. Dreams which have wings to fly high. Nevertheless, I am not Icarus. Because some dreams are not meant to happen. Because fate said so.
