Hello World!
I just got back from a Iftar with Residence sponsored by the Southwest CDC people. Strangely,
the event wasnt as half-bad as we thought it was. Actually, We were very reluctant to attend the event. Our job was to act as exhibitionists for the MPs.We had to explain to them the meaning of Ramadhan in great details. At the very least, we had the opportunity to communicate with the Mayor-Amy Koh and boy, she was extremely grateful for our mild contributions to the event. After the event, each of us was supposed to conduct surveys. I was having a hard time trying to communicate with the Apeks and the Nyonyas. They cant speak English and I cant speak Mandarin well. And the survey form was in English (DUh!) Obviously, there was a communication breakdown. The event was meant for the grassroots people under the Southwest CDC and I realized that many of them are in fact, Apeks and Nyonyas who are so damn cinaaaa that they cant utter a single English word for nuts. No wonder people said that grassroots members are sooo cinaaaaaa.
We went to Ya Kun for an after-event eatery. We did not have a hearty dinner since by the time we got into the buffet line, there was hardly any food left.
Oh yes, I MUST said this out loud. THE HAZE IS BLOODY ANNOYING. I am having a minor cough whenever I go out. My eyes feel slightly itchy thanks to the wonderful misty weather. The weather is hotter be it in the day or at night. And the whole of Singapore is being blanketed in a misty dreamy cloud. Only that it is not fog. It is haze which is becoming so bad that it can passed off as a SMOG. Bloody irritating. Seriously, Singapore should just fuck off with this bloody non-intereference, the so-called ASEAN WAY and tell Indonesia off. If they retaliate, Singapore should just resort to policy of deterrence. Hopefully, other SEA states would bandwagon Singapore.
Haha... Of course the situation is more complicated and it is difficult to solve. Whatever it is, political elites are supposedly smart enough to come up with some intelligent and feasible solutions. They should better do it fast before the whole of Singapore disappeared from sight due to very heavy smoke. Before Singaporeans feel that we are actually living in the clouds. In man-made dusty clouds.
Tired.... But Dangz! need to work on my essays. Bummer... Its going to be a bloody looooong night.....
